Since my Top 10 list of LMS vendors has been posted online, I have received quite a bit of e-mail wondering why the biggest names: Cornerstone On Demand, Saba, SumTotal and SuccessFactors are not on the list. From a general product standpoint, go take a look at Amazon.com or Consumer Reports. A LMS should first be a LMS.

The biggest surprise to me is Saba. Again, this is in reference to the learning portion of Saba and not the entire platform of talent, etc. Saba is the unknown here, because of their previous track record. I mean ad-hoc reporting is not NexGen it is a standard nowadays in a system. Create KPIs and report on them.

The front end UI is strong, the admin side is where there needs some fixes, especially the reporting – Jasper should be retired. Saba Cloud – Saba is such a wild card here. Saba was once a kingpin in the industry, then dropped down, now, I think they are on the upswing again, so it is a system to keep on an eye on.
