The power of tools like Facebook, LinkedIn, and Yammer, are pretty astounding. These tools give us a way to connect with people faster and more easily than ever before. A lot of the Social Media Mavens , however, are really ranting, not about the technology, but about the human dynamics related to social networking.

1 – In 2007 I selected Bloglines , as my RSS reader – and said it was “probably the most indispensable tool for my work&#. 4 – In 2007 Feedblitz was an important tool for me to create a daily email from the RSS feed, although I now use Google Feedburner to do this job, it’s not one of my Top 10 tools.

Tom Werner, Chief Research Officer, Brandon Hall [link] LMSs are adding social features – including RSS feeds, peer ratings of content. Used Ektron ( www.methodfactory.com ) a content management system – which allowed search, tagging, RSS, links, blogs, polls, surveys. I joined about 10 minutes late, so missed a bit!)

RSS (really simple syndication) readers and social bookmarking are two popular information aggregation tools. RSS readers (i.e., RSS readers allow educators to rapidly skim through hundreds of blog posts and articles to find the most relevant information to their practice. Social Bookmarking. It will collect all new posts through RSS. We did consider creating a community there for our free edition, but in the end we decided to go with Yammer (see communities). We did setup a community for our free users in Yammer and I like that a lot more. My most valuable tool is probably Flipboard combined with Google reader.
