One thing I used to hear quite a bit from brand new users of Adobe Captivate was that it was fairly difficult to get started and many times I heard that once they started their first project, staring at the blank slide canvas was intimidating. Storyline approaches making software simulations in a whole new ways as compared to Adobe Captivate.

To focus more on rapidly authored eLearning content, I am excluding the screen recording tools which are mainly used for software simulation type of courses. However, instructional designers or the SMEs should be able to select the right template for the right kind of slide in the course content.
